Pre-Construction Phase
Estimating
Farr Construction Group takes a hands-on approach to estimating—each project’s estimate is developed by its manager and field superintendent for unmatched accuracy.
By combining financial insight, constructibility expertise, and historical cost data, we deliver comprehensive, risk-reduced estimates.
We collaborate early with trusted, top-tier subcontractors to ensure precision in bids and schedules.
Our team thoroughly reviews all construction documents and verifies site conditions at every design stage.
Any discrepancies are documented and addressed with the A/E team.
This commitment ensures every proposal is complete, qualified, and ready for seamless execution.
Comparative Analysis
FCG draws on a diverse portfolio of past projects to deliver precise, comparative pre-construction pricing.
Our experienced team identifies cost anomalies to keep every detail within a fair range.
There are no departmental hand-offs—each project team stays involved from start to finish.
This continuity ensures nothing is lost in translation and every detail is understood.
Together, we refine budgets, schedules, constructibility, and value engineering.
The result is a seamless transition from concept to completion.
Schedule Development
FCG prioritizes minimizing disruption to ongoing hospital operations through close collaboration with on-site staff. We develop detailed, phased plans broken down day by day for clarity and efficiency.
Our proactive approach resolves all constructibility and scheduling issues before finalising documents.
By basing schedules on actual factory lead times, we employ a strategic “delayed start” method.
This approach cuts costs, shortens timelines, and enhances quality through just-in-time delivery.
Our team continuously updates schedules and manages coordination to ensure seamless execution.
Inventory Tracking
Top down information flow is used to perform our equipment and product tracking. We utilize
our extensive relationships with factory representatives to ensure that products are available when required.
Project schedules are forwarded to factory representatives upon award of
subcontractor(s), notifying them of the purchaser’s (subcontractor’s) identity and of production
dead-lines.
The status of all equipment is tracked on a weekly basis and information is recorded on the submittal tracking log and schedule.
Our relationships and product tracking techniques
enable us to pinpoint product delivery dates, and develop and maintain accurate project
schedules.
Subcontractor Selections
FCG’s long-standing success is built on trusted partnerships with proven subcontractors.
Our partners mirror our diligence, precision, and commitment to excellence on every project.
Each subcontractor is carefully selected to match the project’s scope and technical demands.
We rely on qualified, experienced teams—never unsolicited or unproven bidders.
Collaboration and clear communication drive every phase of our work.
Strong relationships with our core partners ensure consistency, quality, and reliability.
Do not buy out
sub-contractors
Unlike many in the industry, FCG rejects subcontractor buyouts that sacrifice project integrity for profit.
Buying out bids may benefit the contractor but often harms the owner and overall results.
When profits are stripped, subcontractors may recover losses through costly plan discrepancies.
These practices drive up project expenses and compromise quality.
FCG upholds ethical standards outlined by AGC and NASFA against such “bid shopping.”
Our focus remains on fairness, transparency, and delivering lasting value.
